About This Policy
This policy applies to SantosMods.dev. The site shares FiveM maps, GTA V YMAP resources, partner information, and community links. For privacy questions, email contact@santosmods.dev.
What Your Browser Sends
Like any website, SantosMods.dev receives information needed to answer your request. This can include your IP address, browser and device information, the page you asked for, the page that referred you, the request time, and whether a security check passed.
What We Keep
Our application does not put your raw IP address into a database or long-term application log. For rate limiting, the server turns it into a temporary one-way code and keeps that code in memory for a short time. The application cannot use that code to recover the original IP address.
ALTCHA challenge records and verified-session records also stay in server memory only until they expire. Restarting the site clears these temporary records.
How ALTCHA Works
When your browser does not already have a valid session, it completes a small proof-of-work security check. The challenge is created by SantosMods.dev, solved on your device, and checked by our server. It normally finishes automatically and does not ask you to identify pictures.
We host the ALTCHA widget ourselves. The check does not call Cloudflare Turnstile or another outside CAPTCHA service, and ALTCHA does not receive the challenge data. Each challenge can be used only once and expires after five minutes.
The Verified-Session Cookie
After a successful check, SantosMods.dev gives your browser a site-wide verification cookie. It lets you reload pages and move around the site without repeating the check. The cookie is removed when your browser session ends, and the matching server record expires after no more than 12 hours. A change to your network address may require another check.
The cookie is marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and it is marked Secure when the site uses HTTPS. If you block it, protected pages will keep asking you to verify.
Browser Storage and Essential Preferences
If you dismiss a site announcement, your browser stores the announcement identifier under santosmods.dismissedAnnouncement.v1. This preference stays on your device until you clear site data or a later announcement replaces it. It is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling. You can remove it at any time through your browser's site-data controls.
After a successful security check, the site briefly stores santosmods.postVerificationPromotion.v1 in session storage so it can show the store and ServerHarbor notice once on the page you open. The marker is removed as soon as that page reads it and is not used for tracking or profiling.
Cloudflare and ServerCheap
Cloudflare provides DNS, reverse-proxy, performance, and security services. Your request passes through Cloudflare before it reaches our server. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, routing information, device information, and security signals under its own Privacy Policy. Cloudflare may also set its own security cookies.
ServerCheap hosts the VPS that runs SantosMods.dev. Like other hosting companies, it may process server and network records needed to operate its service. Its handling of that information is covered by the ServerCheap Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Update API Requests
Our public update API uses the same temporary, one-way rate limiting described above. If operational webhook logging is enabled, an API request may create an event containing the requested mod name, response status, response time, and timestamp. That event does not include the visitor's IP address.
Why We Use This Information
- To send you the pages and files you request.
- To stop bots, spam, denial-of-service attempts, and other abuse.
- To complete ALTCHA checks and maintain verified browser sessions.
- To keep the site and update API working reliably.
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we process necessary request, security, and session information for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the site, to provide the service you request, and to meet legal obligations that apply to us.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use behavioral advertising or visitor fingerprinting.
- We do not offer visitor accounts or profiles on this site.
- We do not send ALTCHA challenge data to ALTCHA or another CAPTCHA provider.
- We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through this site.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Because SantosMods.dev does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or targeted-advertising activity to opt out of. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals do not change the site's behavior.
Children's Privacy
SantosMods.dev is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it when required.
Links to Other Websites
SantosMods.dev links to Discord, GitHub, LCPDFR.com, GTA5-Mods.com, TheDevHub, partner websites, and other outside services. Their privacy rules apply after you leave SantosMods.dev. We do not control what those sites collect.
Your Choices and Requests
You can block cookies in your browser, although protected pages may not work. You can also control whether your browser sends a referrer. Because the site has no visitor accounts and our application does not keep raw IP addresses in a database, we may have little or no information that can be linked back to you.
To ask about information we control, email contact@santosmods.dev. We may need enough information to understand and verify your request.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know about, access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to appeal a denied request or complain to a data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. These rights are subject to local law and may not apply when we do not hold information that can identify you.
Accessibility
For information about accessible use of this site or to request an alternative format, read our Accessibility Statement or email contact@santosmods.dev.
Policy Changes
We will update this page when our site or data handling changes. The date at the top tells you when this policy was last revised.
This policy describes the current SantosMods.dev setup in plain language. It is not legal advice.
